And yet the offense still has issues. So what does that tell me? That Tanner is not good enough and the offense schematically and the system has issues. And that’s been part of the problem along with Jalen hurts’ flaws in the past.

It’s hard to look past the coaching when guys aren’t playing hard. the defense quit the previous two weeks. special team has been a disaster on returns and largely besides Mann. we have questionable decisions by the head coach in using his personnel and game management. the Eagles routinely penalized as they have the 10th most penalties against them in the league. It’s hard for a home to overlook the coaching when my head coach keeps telling me we’re tough. Detailed. Together. They look anything but those three things. That’s why coaching gets talked about as we have those issues along with a passing offense he and his coaching staffs haven’t been able to fix even prior to the injuries this year and had 2 pro bowl WRs and a good tight end.

I would argue they have the together part down - they're all sucking TOGETHER

Not relevant, the topic was about getting the passing game to be working in a functional way, and my comment was on the fact that it is VERY hard to have a multi-year functional passing game when the idea every down is to hold onto the ball for god knows how long. How the hell do you create a functional passing game around your QB always throwing late? It's basically saying 'just ignore the plays and go play' when you do that.

That O-Line has McKee dang near shaking in his cleats, he looks so flustered within the pocket. His short dump off throws to RB's are inaccurate with no touch, his release looks different at times coming out of his hands. Unless the pocket is clean with room to step up, he is a deer in the headlights. McKee is who he is right now and that's a backup - but Mannion and his inexperience is not helping this situation at all.

List of eagles playing to the level of their contract:

Braden Mann. The punter......

End of list

Goedert, I’d probably bring him back given we have nobody and he keeps taking the lowball.

I would add Q, it's not all pro level but he hasn't been a problem at all.

Frankly feels like Q would look even better if we had better safety play.

Sorry he got them to do that in unison lol

Tbh kind of tells you more about how the league views goedert at this stage. He's probably a solid backup at this stage as he can’t block at the level he used too. He doesn’t stay healthy and really he’s not as good of a pass catcher anymore.

I’m guessing he’s not back next year but he’s probably signing a low contract and competing for a starting job instead of being handed it.

Also - I love Devonta, but I do think it's a bad look that his first real shot at being THE guy has resulted in him spending more time in the training room than on the field.

So as it stands right now, the Jets have 3 of the top 10 picks in next years draft, which is nice.

The offense we are seeing right now is a result of a struggle to learn/play in the new system, injuries, significantly degraded OL talent and coaches who have no idea of how to improve anything. The perfect crap storm to produce an abundance of crap.

The defense, on the other hand, doesn't have these same excuses. Primarily, the DL is garbage. And, that is completely unacceptable when you pay 2 DT's to be stalwarts and trade for an Edge and pay him as well. Davis, Carter and Greenard are just flat-out underperforming, and that's putting it mildly. Hunt has taken a step back after being viewed as another candidate for a nice extension after this season. Nolan Smith at least looks motivated to play. None of the other Edges are seizing any opportunities.

The worst part about all of this is that there are numerous holes to fix if we want to be competitive next year...likely while introducing a whole new coaching staff.

It's his fault he contracted a hamstring issue and this retarded coaching staff keeps playing him on it?

Man. I really owe @RememberTheKoy an apology. I used to really think either him or Skippy were the worst posters on the board.

I was wrong.

Those two are so stubborn they make oxen blush, but at least they can read more than a sentence without getting lost. Hell, Skippy writes entire books (with no point to them at all).

Still waiting. You ignored my response. You literally did not answer the question and still haven’t. Which is what you always do.

Love Devonta. He’s a no. 1 wr but I’d argue theres tiers to no. 1 WRs. Like jsn and Chase might be on another planet compared to any other no. 1 WRs. Nacua is probably close to them when he’s healthy. I’d say next tier of no. 1 WRs are St. Brown, Nacua (if he stayed healthy I’d have him with Jsn and Chase), lamb and Jefferson (albeit Murray and his Qb situation is killing him). I’d say the next tier is where Devonta is. With guys like London, Higgins, flowers, Watson (this year— wouldn’t say for his career yet), Garrett Wilson and olave.

I’d have had aj brown prior to the past two years in the tier below jsn and chase.

I want the Eagles to win more than anything, regardless of who is playing QB. Watching you repeatedly make a fool of yourself is a fun consolation prize, though!

Says the guy who repeatedly sides with the RTKs of the EMB. That is hilarious.

lol is that what I said?

The same coaching staff that ran Barkley on a limited snap count on a play with 12 seconds left in the half and hoping he’d bust one in his current state

Mannion is in an unfortunate situation here.

Under different circumstances, you probably keep him at least one more year and let him grow.

Those circumstances are probably better OL coach and an offense that looks at least mediocre.

I really think the biggest issue with the offense now is the OL coach.

I'm not saying to save Mannion. I think their rightfully headed for a complete housecleaning.

But I think he's going to get a bad wrap here, probably worse than he deserves. I dont think hes probably as bad as will be labeled.

It certainly would help, but I'd take some DE1 play over it - maybe Greenard becomes spry after the bye... too little too late for this season anyway.

I’m curious how Lurie sees the Stoutland situation. We know that he gave Chip enough rope to hang himself. Sirianni and Co stripped Stout of run game duties that led to him walking away. Was this the banishing Howie to the other side of the building moment for Nick?

If there was one player on this team that I could say has quit and plays with a lack of effort, it would be Greenand. It shows up every week now.

Is Ryan gonna tweet through it this morning?

I actually think that’s the right thing to do.

Siri is getting fired in the offseason. At least give him the rope to hang himself. Fire Manion, put Siri in charge of the offense and play calling. Let him have control before you fire him. A soldiers death.

No sense letting him bumble around press conferences defending an offense and defense that he has no control over.

Been saying it since the loss to Carolina. Mannion’s offense just isn’t working. Maybe one day he’s a great coach/play caller but this just isn’t working. Maybe Siri does have more control than we think behind the scenes? I don’t know.

But Siri has earned the right to finish this season. Let him go down swinging.

It’s easy to pile on McKee, but his biggest issue is the offensive line and protection scheme aren’t good enough. He isn’t athletic enough to make plays when things break down around him unless he has a four-lane highway to run through. Put him in a shotgun spread with an OL that can pick up a blitz and he’s fine as a backup QB. I don’t think there are many backups capable of playing well in this environment.

I don't even know it's the protection scheme.

OL struggle to communicate, and slide over to pick up a blitz.

Mitchell tries hard, but not exactly the RB I want in pass protection.

And without a decent RB, teams simply don't respect the run. You could see the difference in the 1st half before Barkley breaks down.

Mitchell/Blue wouldn't see the field until the 2nd half of a preseason game. Cooper/Lemon need time to get open. Goedert now a backup blocking TE (i.e. lacks any sort of burst).

When that's your skill people, behind a limited and inexperienced OL, pray for the QB.

Biggest disappointment is Steen, who has failed to improve in 3 seasons.

So this team had one of the greatest positional coaches of all time. He had a down year so let's alienate him and chase him away. How's that look now?

I wish we had RBs standing in the middle of the field for check downs. Our RBs only ever get swing passes on check downs and its always covered.

The check down routes are always just go stand in the flat 4 yards behind the LOS. If you watch any other team, they have a variety of route concepts and rarely do you just see a receiver get a ball flat footed. Mannion is a fraud of a coach. He has no idea what he is doing.
