Bingo. To that point… the defense is 24th in epa/play, 20th in success rate after playing the Commanders, Titans and titans and the Keenum-led Bears.

The contrarian point is there are times a leader has step in if something isn't right or there are delays. Do you leave an inexperienced OC in the mire to stay hands off? Nope

Yes. If it's Nick you stay the hell away because you are toxic

At least it was a regular season game. Patriots fans had to deal with losing a SB to a backup.

People didn't want to believe the article but maybe it was right that he just doesn't like under center

hard to run play action under center when teams are just going all out at the quarterback and not respecting the threat of a run. I’d have to look up our running numbers under center cause those anrent good either. It’s hard to have a successful UC PA and continue to run it when EJ Jenkins is going to not block and Lane Johnson is gonna do a poor job blocking looking like the security guy that barely checks people. This play epitomizes what @ManuManu responded to you with.

How hard is it to really call an offense that has a veteran, winning QB, all-world RB, great WR, and 2 top notch OTs.

Andy Reid never had an offense this out of sorts when he was here and he had McNabb, Westbrook, and a bunch of scrubs most seasons

I thought he looked good last night FWIW, but he’s doesn’t look like a first-round pick, and certainly not one that we traded up for.

If we were intent on a manufactured touch/YAC guy - I think we could've done better.

Offense has big issues. But frankly we knew they were a work in progress to start the season with a. New offense, new blocking scheme, 1st year OC calling plays. Defense has fangio and most of the team outside of a couple guys has been here under Fangio for at least a season if not 2. I’m also not sure how Fangio fixes Campbell’s issue in tackling in the run defense. It was bad last year when Dean was out and he’s not been good in coverage either this year. Safety is a bigger mess. Mukuba looks as inconsistent as he did last year. Neither Epps or Carter should be starting S. Not sure that’s fixable unless you trade for 1 safety and Mukuba makes improvements as season goes on. He missed half a season in 2025 so you hope he does

Agreed. I don’t blame Lemon for that because that’s not really his game. That’s just stupid coaching. They’re treating him like he’s Zachariah Branch.

I have little to no feel for what the overall scheme is on O. However, i do think one of the apparent things is as a whole the approach is distributing the ball much more than the past 4 years. Smith is clearly the focal point of the passing game, but not in the way of force funneling through AJ was in previous years.

We also went from high school level passing concepts last year to a scheme that seems dependent on a timing based system. The ball isn’t coming out on time or on rhythm. I used to give hurts prop for his pre snap abilities. Right now it looks like he doesn’t know what he’s seeing.

From what I heard, we've moved from Jalen reading the defense in a simplified way to not really reading the defense and relying on progression. He's likely fine with the spotting the red and green lights, but those yellow light situations will take time (but how long can we wait?).

Maybe you're looking at those Reid offenses with rose tinted glasses? There were definitely plenty of seasons where we were yelling at the TV "RUN THE BALL!" with a very inept passing game. Reid only looks like an offensive genius now due to having Mahomes. He was getting carried a lot in Philly due to Jim Johnson's defenses.

We had the second highest Rush EPA in the league week 3. We are now 9th in league thru week 3. That is a nice nugget.

Also, if you take away the third quarter, we are 8th in overall offense EPA. We have the worst third quarter offense in the league. Mannion needs to figure that out and soon.

Where was Barkley in the 2nd half?

I still can't believe this team had no real plan for when Goedert went down.

Any chance you can find what are pass to run ratio is when we go under center. I’m curious as to what it is.

The under center PA game is looking rough because backside teams aren’t honoring the run as much and are attacking the QB instead. Our success rate is something like 25 percent on those plays and Hurts has been pressured a bunch.

I thought this offense was supposed to be about timing? Snap the ball and take your steps back and let it rip. He had a split second to throw the ball

I'm referring to one of the other videos videos. He doesn't really have that quick release and it seems to take longer than that split second to throw the ball out

That is the brutal reality of why this hits so hard today. Two overpaid DTs who get pushed around, two bad safeties, and a first round LB with bad instincts that is lost. Coop is hurt. SB year they had the talent to become dominant. Now I'm not sure. Oh, and ZB is invisible.

He definitely reads the defense pre and post snap. I've definitely noticed improvement in his progressions and getting the ball out, but that INT last night made me scratch my head. I don't know if he forced a bad throw due to the situation, or he just misread the coverage. Either way, we need a run game. The fact that we're 2-1with no run game is nice and all, but I don't expect much success if Barkley consistently gets below 100 yards a game. Just look at the Chiefs. Their offense had been anemic for 3 straight seasons with no run game, but then they add Kenneth Walker and everyone's talking about how "scary" they are.

The offense is about going through your progressions. Not going through progressions fast enough but also if our blocking on some of these UC plays is like that’s then it’s a big problem. On the play I posted and there’s one a couple posts after, if our blocking is gonna be like that most teams are going to fail.

there is multiple videos coming out today with them under center with play action and the blocking is just poor. You’re not gonna have successful play action if you’re not gonna block well. Also teams not respecting the run game under center. It’s why I asked what is their pass to run ratio when they go under center. Because if they’re passing it like 70% of the time they go under center guess what? Teams pick up on tendencies and just play the pass.

Howie not seeing the writing on the wall with DT salaries increasing and letting Williams go was a massive mistake

But he used a first on Davis and ego is a problem just like with Dalton being on the team

Imo think ZB is invisible cause he’s trying to do too much due to the fact he is trying to overcompensate with Campbell next to him. I get Campbell is a first round pick but at some point in time if he’s not getting the job done then you have to try trotter jr.

I repeat….this is not a talented offense.
