The first 2 drives were short circuited by penalties and a fumble, then a 95 yard drive and a 67 yard TD drive. We looked good in the 1st half in TN as well, but just shot ourselves in the foot (end zone pick in TN, 1st 2 drives this week, the Andy Dalton experience). Game should have been 14-10 or 10-10 at the half (guess you can say 14-13 or 10-13 if Bears kick the FG).Saying it again - the running game in the 1st half was a serious improvement. On defense...well...Q looks great again. And Woolen got victimized by some ticky tack calls.Unlike 2023 at the end when everything felt helpless, there are some green shoots here. The more I think about it, the more it's this simple - we need to clean up the operation on offense. That's coaching and execution. Being 2-1 while being -5 in turnover margin should be impossible - hopefully the turnovers start to even out.I agree with each of those points. My concern though is that the ceiling is lower than we've seen since 2021. They can surely get much better but I'm not so sure they have the roster to seriously contend. Too many misses over the last couple of years.

He's right in the score could've been 14-10 or 10-10. But honestly, it also could've been 34-0. Just imagine how even more embarrassing the Eagles would've looked last night if Hurts doesn't get that tush push off in time. What a terrible call by Mannion on the play before. I still can't get over it. Just a total boneheaded decision. That has me more concerned about him than any other play this season.

We were 2/9 on 3rd down last night - reversion to the mean.

The Eagles kicked off and then immediately let the Bears go 11 place 66 yards for touchdown. With ease. That to me felt like the Eagles didn’t come out ready to play. It kind of felt like the defense thought we’re going against third string case we’re a feast in this game. And they got punched in the mouth. And it kind of set the tone and got the crowd ramped up
September 29Sep 29 That Raymond TD concept is something that will come back to bite us later in the season as other opposing coaches will see it. Coop didn’t banjo on the motion and got thrown in a blender. Reid did the same thing in SB57 on the Toney and Moore TD plays. He took that from the Jacksonville game earlier that year where Slay got cooked on it by Agnew.

Figured we were done.

September 29Sep 29 Don’t worry guys it was because the Phillies messed around all week before clinching Sunday so he had other priorities lol

They're getting ownedThey werent as bad as people think they were in pass rushing. Run defense most of the game was terrible. They ratcheted it up against the run after the Hurts injury and seemed to play inspired for a short while. Then seemed to give up in the 2nd half.Pass rush was decent. Keenum got the ball out incredibly quick all night. Which is more of an indictment of the LBs and safeties in both cases. Run and pass. Guys arent covered long enough for the would be sackers to get home. 3 DL cant plug every hole. LBs and safeties are not filling their lanes.
September 29Sep 29 One positive was that we got the first down and broke that bad streak. Baby steps?

That, or you just remember the T.O. era and when he had Djax, McCoy and Maclin.
September 29Sep 29 If the Eagles bottom out this year then at least they are heading into a really strong draft class that has been getting hyped up.
September 29Sep 29 So looks like 2 questions early in the season have been answered here. Dickerson washed. ✅️ Jurgens cooked.✅️One concern has been addressed with Kendall and looks like some good early returns there. Need to pull the trigger on the 2nd one. Was gonna wait maybe another week, but forget it. LOL Got to pull the trigger fast and make adjustments. Can't let a whole another year pass by with just eating terrible play by players, due to contracts or draft position. Need to play the most capable players out there and roll with it, before it's too late. Also, important to get answers on who are the keepers going forward and give opportunities out to those in the running.

It wasn’t till like the end of Andy‘s career where that really became a consistent problem. This has consistently been a problem outside of 2024 when they had a historic run game since 2023.

And I get that his defenses have started slow in the past, but his player core is still there and this is year three under him… That shouldn’t be much of an issue anymore.I’m much less concerned about the offense… I expected them to struggle well into October. Now the offensive line health/shuffle has only made this new offense’s transition that much harder. I still expect that we see an offense that improves as this year goes on.I don’t have as much grace and patience with the defense
September 29Sep 29 I have not been remotely impressed by Mannion. And that's not an indictment on Mannion per se, he's a rookie OC. More of an indictment of the front office. The whole OC search process felt off to me. It had bad vibes from the start. Got turned down by a bunch of guys who went to lesser teams(except maybe Doyle) and then had to settle for a dude not even on your original list. There was no vision of what kinda offense they wanted to run. They talked to multiple guys all who ran different style offenses. So it's like what exactly was the plan there?I just didn't get a good feeling coming out of that process. But to me, this season was always going to be a big year. It's probably Lane's last year. It could 4/5 of the OL's last year here. Even Hurts, if he goes on down have an unimpressive season it could even be his last year here. This team could look very different in 2027. So this season was pretty important. For them to give the keys to a rookie OC who's hardly ever coached in the NFL before was just super brazen on their part. I saw some people at the time label it a "big swing." I got desperation vibes out of it, but maybe that's me.But the sad thing is none of this even matters if the defense doesn't get their act together. The team was built for the defense to be the backbone and if it can't be they're toast.

Yay

I still expect that we see an offense that improves as this year goes on.I don’t have as much grace and patience with the defenseI think the problem to defense is multifaceted. Campbell looks like he’s either not ready or he’s not gonna be the player they thought. He’s not good on run defense and if he’s not gonna be good on run defense, he has to be good in coverage. He hasn’t been good there either. Their safety position is a mess. I don’t think they have a starter on this team. Mukuba missed a ton of time last year and never really proved he could be a consistent starter. Epps and Carter are backups at this point in their careers.I do believe the pass rush will get better. which will help but I’m not as optimistic about safety getting better. LB could if Campbell has a light bulb moment like Dean did or they try trotter and he hits
September 29Sep 29 Maybe it's because I'm more defensive-minded and think that side of the ball has been neutered over the years with the rule changes, but I didn't have a problem with the shot Hurts took last night. Bang/bang play, with his toe barely out of bounds and the defender leveled him. That was a pretty clean hit. Have to do a better job sacrificing a few yards for the sake of your own safety and that disaster with Dalton not happening. The one Dante Moore took on Saturday for Oregon was more graphic since he got KO'd, but I thought he waited too long to slide and gave the defender an opportunity to wallop him. It's not the defender's job to protect you, it is yours.Mahomes was the king of taking advantage of this while tap-dancing on the sidelines and I'm glad to see defenses are standing up for themselves and saying "Yeah, you wanna do that we're just going to pepper you and be fine with the flag".

It’s just my two cents, but if you mixed in a little balance, you probably would not be perceived that way. It’s no different than somebody posting on the other end of that spectrum… Only posting positive things. Neither sound very realistic. The truth is usually in the middle, so when a poster does not appear to be anywhere near the middle, most won’t feel comfortable considering that source as truth
