I was referring to the Andrew Baker, the medical examiner.  I'm not dismissing what Chauvin did, however, Floyd had significant conditions that aided his death.  This is a tricky case if you ask me.  

Baker's autopsy report from May 2020 found that Floyd died of "cardiopulmonary arrest complicating law enforcement subdual, restraint and neck compression." Baker's autopsy listed "other significant conditions" including "arteriosclerotic and hypertensive heart disease; fentanyl intoxication; [and] recent methamphetamine use." 

When asked what he believed caused Floyd's death, he pointed to what he called "severe underlying heart disease" and said Floyd's heart already would require more oxygen than normal. He said in the context of an altercation or restraint, adrenaline would ask the heart to beat faster and the heart would require more oxygen. He said the law enforcement subdual, restraint, and neck compression "was just more than Mr. Floyd could take by virtue of those heart conditions."

Again, Baker testified again on redirect that the main cause of death was "homicide" caused by Derek Chauvin.  That was listed as the cause of death on the autopsy.  Those other contributing factors were just that.  

You take the victim in the condition that the are found.  For example, if I repeatedly punch a obese person with heart condition in the face and he dies, you don't get off because he was obese and had a heart condition.  Your actions are the main factor exactly as the medical examiner stated.  

The cardiologist throughly disputed any heart disease or drugs in the system as being in any way responsible for Floyd's death.

The Jackson Co. (MO) prosecuting attorney has charged former #Chiefs assistant coach Britt Reid with Class D felony DWI and states medical records revealed a .113 serum blood alcohol concentration.

He should go to jail for a very long time for what he did to that girl.

Just get it over with and make an example of the guy already so this can go away.  

Defending the indefensible makes it harder to defend those who are not at fault.  I am generally very pro-police, but Chauvin was way out of line and it led to this guy's death.  The rest is background noise.

If they make a horrible example of him and the police union backs it, it's going to make blue lives a lot easier too.  Normally the cops get off easy under these circumstances, but this is sufficiently flammable that I would assume the jurors are far too intimated to do that.

It's the same everywhere. We had a case here, where a rich kid got home from his bachelor party in the states. Get's off his private plane, drunk. Instead of taking an uber, which he could easily afford because his parents are incredibly wealthy, he decides to drive his Jeep home. On the way home, he runs a stop sign cause he's drunk, and smashes into a van. He killed a grandfather, and 3 young children. He just got out of jail after serving 5 years of a 10 year sentence. It's gross.

How many of those interactions exist where nothing really happens? Think data not anecdotes.

It is an outlier, but it's an outlier the same way a plane crash is. They don't happen often, but when they do, investigations as to what went wrong, if someone was at fault, and what changes need to be made to ensure something like that doesn't happen again occur. It's really the same thing here. When stuff like this happens, you can't just go "Well, 99% of the interactions go smoothly so we don't need to do anything." The issue is still there and if it happens once it's already too many times.

He wasn't resisting.  In fact, he was already dead as the EMTs testified and that animal Chauvin kept his knee on his neck well after Floyd was even moving.

Any reasonable person can see that Chauvin was responsible for his death.  And, if you can't, then you can go F' your racist self

There was A LOT of resisting prior to him being on the ground.  Floyd was uncooperative and belligerent the entire time.  From when they tried to get him in the squad car, to when he fell out the other side of it, Floyd did nothing to do what the officers asked.  He was yelling he couldn't breathe before even getting in the car.

He was claiming he was claustrophobic, the officers offered to put the windows down.  There were drugs found on the floor of the squad car from where Floyd was laying.  

Chauvin went beyond what was needed but there are other mitigating factors here.
