LOSER: CARSON WENTZ’S BLINDSIDE

It was quite apparent that the Colts’ biggest need entering the 2021 NFL Draft was left tackle after long-time starter Anthony Castonzo retired this offseason. After opting to take edge defender Kwity Paye in Round 1, Indianapolis was expected to go all-in on addressing the gaping hole at left tackle in Round 2.

However, all the top tackle prospects were swooped up before the Colts were on the clock at No. 54. They opted to take another edge defender, Dayo Odeyingbo, as a result, which means Sam Tevi remains the penciled-in starter. Considering Tevi was the sixth-lowest-graded tackle in the NFL last year for the Chargers, this is bad news for Carson Wentz’s blindside.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

It’s going to be up to our new DC to figure out how to use him.

I like Schwartz, but if he were still our DC, I can guarantee Williams would never amount to anything.  The guy had no creativity.

Absolutely yeah! But with this team I just have no faith.

I can't say I blame you, we have a lot of trauma dealing with injuries, here's hoping for some better luck in that front.

Bring in Steven Nelson. Then bring in Gareon Conley cheap.

And we need him to stay healthy enough to play 70% of the snaps, right?

75% or 70% and Indy makes the playoffs.

75% if they miss the playoffs - 13 games.

On the other hand, if he goes down, Indy is a longshot to win more than 6 games so we pick in the low 40s.

Jacob Eason is the backup QB. Who?

I really dislike the idea of getting "your guy". It's arrogant to think you know better when all the stats show otherwise.

And we know backup qb carries second round value.

If we converted all our round 5-7 picks, what does that get us. I like some guys who are still out there, specifically Jabril Cox, Jamar Johnson/Tyree Gillespie and Robert Rochell - I figure once we get out the 4th I’ll be out of ideas though.

Would be a nice time for a Zertz trade...

Notice Humphrey has yet to be picked.

IMO Humphrey was clearly a better C than Dickerson but you like Dickerson I guess hopefully not because you trust their judgement as the be all end all, obviously that’s questionable ... at the least. So you know where I’m coming from I’m positive on Hurts that he can improve, will improve and with a very good chance to be our QB for a while. I think Howie has bigger fish to fry and he needs to live or die by his drafts, wrong pick at 37 which should be a lot more sure thing than Dickerson

At this point, another late 5th or 6th round pick is as valuable to us as the paper clip on the trade paperwork.

Unless they can use Ertz to trade to the top of round 4 with their own 4, back into 4 with their 5,  or for a 2022 4th, they might as well release him.

Looking over remaining players , or lack of, crazy how shallow this draft is .

given our history with drafting injured 1st rd talent level players in the 2nd rd, last nights pick is likely to bust

given our history of relying on oft injured players to stay healthy, even if he can play when healthy, he wont stay healthy

given our history of not being able to keep olineman healthy, we are screwed.

anyone care to give the definition of crazy here?

Funny that DK was off our board but we took Jones and Dickerson in round 2.

Hilarious

What?   What are these 'stats' that show which player is better?  And why aren't all teams using them if they are so illuminative?

Ertz, Dillard and change for Marvell Tell and better change. Has size, good athleticism, he's young and has familiarity with Gannon. Use the freed up money from Ertz for Nelson.

Slay, Nelson, Tell, Maddox

Its solid.

I think Eagles have done a nice job so far , I probably would have went different direction in rd 2 , but still a nice draft ,

And this is why it is so ridiculous. How can they feel good about their secondary? Who do they have opposite Slay? We are going to have to watch Maddox make a fool of himself again aren't we.

Conley is still on the street.

really hope they can get an LB here in the fourth.

i went back to my board and i had all three of our picks on there. I just would have gone different positions. We knew we would take an iOL and DL at some point. Patience

Something that struck me this morning as I was reading more about our draft so far is that the Eagles aren’t just adding more talent to the roster...

they are remaking the team in terms of attitude and identity. Style aside, I think that started with the new coaching staff and is now working its way through the draft.

these guys LOVE LOVE the game. They want to cut your heart out and serve it back to you.

It’s going to be sad when Ertz and BG and Kielce and Cox are all gone because not only are they great on the field, they are the heart of the team and have been for years now. We seem to be adding some of that back in with that draft and  think that has me feeling even better about what they’ve done so far.

Texans are a absolute mess , I’m guessing there is more to the Watson stuff , has to be , for them to use their first draft pick  of few on Mills .

Humphrey not even the second C off the board.

Must be an A-hole, AR willing to deal with it I guess

I could easily see Gainwell or Carter be picked as passing down backs.

Gainwell is my guy but i just cant go rb if there are good defenders on the board

I think the whole nfce has done a nice job
