I was watching this trailer yesterday and spent the first half of it thinking I'd be into this but I wish they hadn't saddled it with The Exorcist name.  Then I saw they brought back Ellen Burstyn as her original character and now I'm intrigued.  I'm not really optimistic but this series already defied the odds once by having a genuinely great sequel.  I'm in.

Some scenes seem pretty copy cat of the original, but yeah overall it looks like it has potential.

I finally saw "Knock at the Cabin" yesterday, and I really liked it.  I technically saw it at the movies, but my friend gave me a weed gummy, and I passed out and didn't remember 1 second of it.  Bautista was fantastic in it, the story held me all the way through.

I smoked when I watched it and a good portion of the movie I just stared at Bautista's weird head wrinkles.

I took tomorrow off for a movie day.  I'll check them out.

Tonight, I saw an early screening of Talk to Me, an A24 horror that was pretty damned good.  It's another horror in grief/loss movie crossed with stupid teens do stupid things but this one is willing to go darker than something like the Boogeyman was willing to do which amps up the stakes.

I've heard nothing but amazing reviews for Talk to Me.  Can't wait till it's streaming!!  It's being talked about as the best horror movie of 2023 (at least up until now).  I'm also seeing that this movie could compete if it's as good as advertised.

I’ve been looking forward to this but I haven’t seen any reviews or anything.  Nice to hear it’s getting hyped up.  Now I’m really excited for it.

Hell yeah - I’m always down for a good vampire movie.  My favorite of all time is Twilight - team Edward all the way!

Had anyone seen "the Lighthouse” with William Dafoe and Robert Pattinson?  I keep reading that it’s a must watch for horror fans but I’ve tried to start it about 3 times now. I can’t get through the first 5 minutes. Maybe I need to be more patient.

Turn your brain off and don’t try to understand that movie and just watch it for what it is. It’s a pretty decent film when you don’t try to figure out what it’s really trying to portray. There’s nothing there just 2 dudes going insane at a lighthouse that’s it.

Pretty cool  but I guess spoilery article praising the first movie in this series.  I need to get caught up on these.

The first one might be my favorite of the found footage genre.  2nd one was good, but it didn’t keep me as intrigued as the first. I liked the first one more than Lake Mungo or Hell House. As Above So Below still might be my favorite. I can’t make up my mind. I think I change it every few weeks, but they’re all good.

Rewatching the series Penny Dreadful on Showtime.  Great cast.  Forgotten how good it was.

I really enjoyed this show through the first season and for some reason didn’t continue (got too busy or some sheet). Is it worth it to watch all seasons?

My lunch cancelled on Thursday and I was way too far from my office to not go to a nearby movie theatre to see this.  I’d rate it as Fing awesome.  I loved every minute of this horror fest.

Spoiler

Every single scene with Riley in this movie was absolutely terrifying. They did a great job portraying that.

**Also, I was looking for this post to respond to, and there’s a lot of comedic gold on the page before @mikemack8.  😂😂

Question for @homerpat.  Is there a reason you were looking for a Necronomicon for "some time?” Just reading through a few previous responses and I wouldn’t say I’m scared of you ….just that I’m curious. 👀  the reason I bought mine is exactly this:

1) I was watching the Evil Dead at the exact same time.
2) I knew my wife would hate it, so it’s propped up in my home office.

I love that your wife hid it from you  My wife would definitely do the same thing, and then lecture me for being a sick freak

Scrolling back through these pages made me remember that she hid it too. This book on Amazon was not cheap!  I’m putting this death book front and center!

I enjoyed them. I saw them for free, but would have paid to finish series.

Evil Dead Rise - More like Evil Dead Lite. It was ok, had its moments, just wasn’t as relentlessly intense as other offerings. As for the gore, it had gore, it was graphic but, honestly, it almost felt tame by today’s standards, even as compared to the series.

I think this movie got way too much hype. I definitely enjoyed it, and I watched it again recently, but it’s not that great compared to the rest of the Evil Dead world. I actually think the remake in 2013 is criminally underrated.  That movie haunts my dream bruh!

Love Evil Dead franchise and think it would be an awesome prop to own (and scare crap out of my kids with)
