Just looked at their stats though and noticed they have the lowest team ERA in the majors at 2.82 and their starting rotation is awesome... Senga 6-3, 1.59 ERA; Peterson 5-2, 2.49 ERA; Megill 5-4 ,3.76 ERA; Holmes 7-3, 2.95 ERA; Canning 6-2, 3.22 ERA. They make the Phils rotation look like hot garb. I of course hate the Mets but it just feels like they're WAY better than the Phils are at this point in the season in both hitting and pitching.

June 14, 2025Jun 14 Walker looks miserable to pitch from the bullpen. He should be smiling ear to ear stealing millions from the Phillies to pitch 1 inning. Needs to embrace it more

If our bullpen was better, then I'd DFA him and let him work that out in Lehigh. But with the current state of the bullpen, he's already someone who is going to get innings and appearances.

He still may be the next Chase Utley, but between the Phillies' record to converting top prospects to legit MLB players and the fact he's so new that 9 bad games dragged his entire career average/slg in all games above A ball to .230/.346...he's a long ways off from MLB and there's no telling what trajectory he'll be on by the time he's closer.I think we really overvalue both Miller and Crawford.

I doubt they’d get any takers but I’d trade him for nothing. Tbh i rather give lazar and Mercado a chance as young guys to develop over using Walker. Some of walker’s BP appearance have come in blowouts and when it’s been high leverage spots/close he’s really not done well against better teams but flourished against pirates. Since he went to the bullpen after his May 1 start (had 2 starts due to DH and injuries):Tampa bay came in Phillies up 7-0STL came in STL up 10-7 (needed him to be long reliever since Nola was a disaster; gave up 2 ER in 3 IP)Colorado (started)Brewers (started)Blue jays came in 8-0Pirates came in 2-1 (high leverage; no runs)Cubs came in Phillies up 4-3 (high leverage; gave up 2 ER in an inning)Blue jays came in phillies up 8-0If you are going to mainly use him in blowouts or long relief I’d much rather see what lazar and Mercado can become. Like you said cause their bullpen stinks will keep him but i much prefer to let lazar and Mercado get the work so they can improve. I don’t think walker’s stuff is remotely good enough to be a consistent high leverage BP. He really should be what clay condrey was for the 08 Phillies. That said the only reason Walker hasn’t been DFA is because they are paying him $18 mil this and next year. and Dombrowski constructed a bad bullpen
June 14, 2025Jun 14 What’s comical about the NL west is they get to play the Rockies 13 times. with how bad the Rockies are you could beat them all 13 times then go 74-75 the rest of the year and be 12 games over .500.
June 14, 2025Jun 14 As bad as Kepler is, he does seem to get a few clutch hits, which is better than whitfield was

Frankly credit to marsh he was good when called up for 3 weeks. The bad again for 3. Now good again. maybe he actually turned the corner. I’m guessing after the marlins series he begins to cool off as we have the Mets and Houston afterwards

It’s why i alluded to the fact they really shouldn’t trade Abel unless plan on extending Ranger cause at the end of 2027 if Ranger and Abel are gone they have 34 year old Nola, painter and Sanchez.
