Gotta send Painter to AAA.

Need to get his control back. Even to start the inning his control was all over the place. Once he got behind in counts, the brewers made good contact.

With this level of control, they might want to consider AA. I’m serious. That was the last place he thrived. I have no idea if the coaches have changed since then. Might be good to get him back in an environment where his confidence was high and he was in a flow state.

Misiorowski faced the minimum 27 batters, struck out 15 of them and gave up 1 hit (56% of his outs were Ks)

Scheduled loss and the team responded accordingly.

Missed watching misio. Kid is going to win a cy young one year. then eventually the brewers will deal him to a big market team. I am curious how he holds up later in the season. He pitched 97 innings as his most in the minors. Last year he in the minors and majors combined had 129. His last 8 starts of last year he had a 5.36 ERA.

Fully expected. Bonus chance today then a must win Sunday.

Sad to think that Painter was a higher ranked prospect than Misioroeski for years and they are basically the same age.

To add onto this misio also didn’t miss two years of baseball recovering from an injury. I’d add last year misio’s last 12 starts/appearances of his rookie season (last game he was used out of BP) in the regular season he had a 5.4 ERA. His 1st 3 he had 1.13 ERA. So what happened was he went into the off-season and made adjustments because the league had made adjustments to him. He was very inconsistent as a rookie. Paul skenes type of dominance all season as a rookie is a outlier. Hamels, Nola, Sanchez and wheeler (had an 8 game stretch as a rookie with a 4.50 ERA) all struggled for stretches their first times up.

This is not me staying Painter is going to eventually be good. More likely he’s not. It is more if you expect rookies to just dominate based off prospect ranking from day 1 their entire rookie season, you’re gonna be upset by the result. it doesn’t happen often. Jordan Walker was cardinals top prospect a few years ago. He had solid rookie year then bad the next two. he’s turning into a star this year and potential MVP candidate. MLB prospects similar to NHL where it takes time and even then it’s a bigger crapshoot due to draft kids out of HS

Defensively a huge loss. He probably saved several runs this year alone. Offensively though, they aren't missing anything. Wonder what 10 million dollar reclamation project DD will aim for next offseason.

The issue with Garcia is he was 33 years old. At some point in time, your body is eventually gonna breakdown. Now that was kind of a fluky type injury where he just cranked it up, threw it and it blew out. But then again the Phillies been super fortunate this year they haven’t had a ton of injuries with how old they are at certain positions. Harper usually misses about 2 or 4 weeks routinely every year. They can’t afford to have him go out of the lineup this time.

I thought this was an excellent interview by Durbin to give insight on what major league players are thinking of the plate with him and what he’s been seeing from a pitcher perspective (even catchers perspective with him doing some things when he got to the majors). Frankly, he should probably be in the booth instead of Amaro cause I think he does a way better job explaining stuff and isn’t a tool like amaro
