I finally saw this 2 nights ago.  I'd give it a 7.5/10.  I was expecting to physically wanna puke after this hype, but I did not at any point.  There are some scenes that are eye popping and gross, and I certainly understand why there was 1720 gallons of fake blood used, but the shock factor wasn't too much.  Overall it was actually a decent movie - the special effects and "deadites" were fantastic.  The scariest part of the movie was the book in my opinion (the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis).  I don't remember seeing this specific book before, but some of the ancient images, drawings, and texts were terrifying.

I liked it a lot too.  Especially for a wide wide release horror, it was pretty dark but still had some of the original Evil Dead tone.  It's definitely one I'll rewatch soon.

 

Also, I started a series that been on Epix/MGM + called FROM.  I'm not sure if anyone has posted about it yet but 3 episodes in, I'm really digging it.  It has a Stephen King feel to the story and characters. I won't get into spoilery specifics because I think it's better to go in cold when you start but it's worth watching.  I imagine most people posting in here would be into it.

FROM is great!  I really enjoyed the whole season.  I think season 2 actually just came out too.  The night zombie things in FROM are some of the scariest, most disturbing creatures I've ever seen on a TV show.

Meh. I love Evil Dead series so much and the movie had some great visuals but too much non Ash idiocy for my taste and did not at all care for final iteration of evil  They did not portray it well  

 

Interesting side bar. was at one of the theaters with super nice large reclining seats. Go to leave after the movie and see two young 20 something physically pulling their pants back on. Pretty sure they were bumping uglies in the back row during the movie. What ever happened to a sub par old fashion?!?  People getting full naked effing now apparently. 

I liked it and don't think I've seen any of the previous movies. There were a bunch of classic stupid horror movie scenes like

I was confused on the elevator blood scene because it seemed like they could turn if the demons blood got into them. Being immersed in the blood should do the trick lol but it didn't 🤷‍♂️

Finished season 1. This show is so good. How are more people not talking about it?

Looks like 5 episodes from season 2 are out.  Hopefully I’ll get some time this weekend to catch up completely.

Probably because it's on a really stupid network/streaming service that no one has or knows about?  I'm planning to wait until the season is over and then sign up and watch it.  

I'm 4 episodes in of watching FROM and it's one of the better shows I've watched in awhile. The first season is free on Prime.

Just when my wife didn’t think I could possibly be any weirder, I went on Amazon and bought a Necronomicon.  Apparently it got here 2 days ago, and she hid it from me. It’s legit. It’s in another language and has all the scriptures and drawings from the movies.  @mikemack8 We’re having our 2nd daughter tomorrow so it probably wasn’t the best time for our Satan book to arrive, but I’m looking forward to reading it to our 1st daughter to put her to sleep.
