I read that he played 5 snaps and gave up 44 yards + TD. Those are some god awful stats

that definitely checks out by the eye test. what made it worse was that just bully stiff arm, that was hard to watch. again perfect example of our DBs waiting for the WR attack them, rather it being the other way around.

My expectations are that we will likely be mostly invisible when it comes to making impact plays like Byard and Roby, but both of them made at least one huge play in the Chiefs game.  So hopefully Leonard will be able to come up with at least one big play in this final stretch besides being otherwise just another body there.

If he could play to Cunningham's level then that would be a big win, especially when Cunningham is able to come back.

My expectations are the LBs aren't responsible for giving up 200 yards of passing + 2TDs the next time to play the Niners, so that's immediately an upgrade which may have less to do with how well he plays and more to do with the bad (being generous) play he forces off the field

would you have made him DC to keep him?

I don't know all the details surrounding his departure but I would've at least given him an interview. For all we know, he was as much of a reason for having the league's best pass defense last year as Gannon was.

Sorry if posted, but not sure where he's wrong here.

We had the best pass defense because we played terrible QBs all year and Slay & Bradberry were a year younger with better safeties

Insane we 10-2 coming off a Super Bowl appearance in his second year 🤣🤣

Does he come with last year’s schedule  ?

Somehow Sirriani doesn't get credit for the wins just blamed for bad starts to games they've predominantly won.

Not sure if you're being serious but even by dvoa standards we were a top-5 defense.

I thought he was interviewed, and then they interviewed Desai after that.

I mean, you can chalk it up to solely being a function of strength of schedule if you want, but that's a gross oversimplification of what we're seeing.

i thought he did get a interview? maybe im wrong but it was pretty much given he was going to get the job. then they brought in Desai.

Haaaaave you seen our LBs?

No, and that's part of the problem.

SIrianni is being held to the standard of last season, rightly or wrongly. They definitely are not as dominant as last season. Can point to the competition, but it's very clearly more than just that. Watching them play every week, they are not as dominant and aren't executing as well across the board.

Sure, he should get credit for being 10-2, but if the Eagles go out in the playoffs this season in embarrassing fashion, the narrative is going to change on Sirianni very quickly. Not that he's a bad coach, but you know damn well some people will be throwing the word "overrated" around and you know damn well the narrative that Steichen was the brains behind the operation is going to dominate the offseason in many corners of the fan base. Especially if the Colts make the playoffs.

This season was SB or bust from the start. A high bar to set, but it is what it is given last season and this roster. And if they get smoked in the playoffs, let's be real, this team is going to be remembered for being fool's gold. A team that was able to barely squeak out games that looked vulnerable for weeks and was finally exposed. That doesn't mean that people will think that Sirianni did a bad job either, but people would be going into 2024 with a very cautious eye, that's for sure. Especially if they can never recapture the dominance of 2022.

Let's hope none of it comes to this and they win the Super Bowl, which I still think they're very capable of.

Apparently, Nick disagrees and they know how to tackle.

This man is clown that is why we won't win anything. Then yesterday he put Hurts back in the game after he supposedly suffered a concussion in a game that was not winnable

He might've, I thought he was upset about not even getting an interview which is why things got contentious but admittedly I wasn't as plugged in to eagles news as usual during that time.

Can't say after one bad game that his in game decision making is not good.

maybe i thought they were ready to give him the job. but then brought in Desai & he ended up getting it. which in returned made Wilson upset. could be wrong though

Interesting that Leonard is going straight to the 53 instead of the PS.

I wouldn't be surprised if they had him running through plays in the aisle on the plane.

Agree, that quote is for media shock value. The Eagles don't have one of the best rosters in football. They have a good roster with some glaring holes. Sirianni has a great record, has the team in a great spot after the SB (not easy), and has two new OCs. This week will be telling wrt the OCs. Yesterday's curb stomping might be a tough thing to recover from for inexperienced coaches, game planning wise. Siri to OCs "okay fellas, what do you have for us as a strategy against the Cowboys?' OCs "well we did our best yesterday, got stomped and we've sort of been calling the same stuff all year, do you have any ideas, Nick?"

I’d imagine that was one of his demands in negotiations between the two teams

Based off Defensive EPA per play, yesterday was 381st worst out of 382. The Broncos game that gave up 70 was 380 and the worst was a Jonathan Gannon game against the 49ers.

Week Thirteen / Game Twelve Prediction results

Well that sucked!  I feel like one of the residents of Mudville.  But the show must go on ... no rest for the weary.  The clear winner of the chicken dinner this week is @dawkins4prez who correctly predicted the 49ers' 42 points, and was only 3 off with his Eagles' prediction of 22 points.

For the first twelve games the chicken dinner has gone to:
@Alphagrand in Week One where the 66 recorded predictions were 65 for an Eagles win and 1 for a Patriots win
@Iggles25 and @bbabraham in Week Two where the 71 recorded predictions were 56 for an Eagles win and 15 for a Vikings win
@Cliftoma in Week Three where the 77 recorded predictions were 73 for an Eagles win and 4 for a Buccaneers win
@Casey @ Bat in Week Four where the 75 recorded predictions were 72 for an Eagles win and 3 for a Commanders win
@Mike030270 and @Texas Eagle in Week Five where the 78 recorded predictions were 63 for an Eagles win and 15 for a Rams win
@GoEagles5921 in Week Six where the 82 recorded predictions were 79 for an Eagles win and 3 for a Jets win
@jwill2420 and @mattwill in Week Seven where the 76 recorded predictions were 46 for an Eagles win and 30 for a Dolphins win
@Mortimer in Week Eight where the 70 recorded predictions were 66 for an Eagles win and 4 for a Commanders win
@Uscg-green in Week Nine where the 77 recorded predictions were 64 for an Eagles win and 13 for a Cowboys win
@Captain F in Week Eleven where the 86 recorded predictions were 53 for an Eagles win and 31 for a Chiefs win, and 2 were for a tie
@paco and @Mortimer in Week Twelve where the 88 recorded predictions were 74 for an Eagles win and 14 for a Bills win, and
@dawkins4prez i Week Thirteen where the 100 recorded predictions were 70 for an Eagles win and 29 for a Niners win and 1 with no score.

The Bonus pick results this week had the following winners:

@Heavywchamp with "The Eagles don't have what it takes to stop SF offense"
@B3 with "Jalen Carter does NOT block another field goal with his insane athleticism. 😀"
@aptosbird with "The linebacker play for both teams makes the difference"
@Screaminbeagle with "AJ Brown over 100"
@FranklinFldEBUpper with "49ers with 450+ yards of total offense"

An Honorable Mention goes to

@EagleJoe8 with "San Fran proves to be very capable of taking advantage of our injuries, constant slow starts, and ball security issues"
@Diehardfan with "As always Hurts fumble" (It wasn't a lost fumble)

Here are the 100 predictions in score order

I think he did because they needed to interview a minority internal candidate due to the Rooney Rule
