I do think they'll try to get to the edge with CMC. That's one area where the Eagles have shown vulnerability. But I'm just not seeing a ton of other options for them to attack the Eagles. They'll need to hit on 3-4 big plays within their scheme, maybe some crazy down field catches like the Bills had. But Purdy is in trouble. He's not scrambling around any better than Josh Allen and he doesn't have a cannon of an arm where he can challenge the entire field.

Frankly if the Eagles offense shows up, this could get ugly. And I think it's actually more likely that the Eagles offense scorea 3-4 touchdowns than it is for the Niners to get all of our players blocked

Final Commanders second game Prediction Results

Summarizing the prediction results of Sunday's unpleasantness is a bit challenging. @Talkingbirds and @JohnB both hit the 24-17 final score right on the nose. Unfortunately they had the numbers with the wrong teams. That means that instead of being zero points off, they were an aggregate of 14 points off. @EagleJoe8 with a 17-20 predicted Washington win was only 4 points off and @greend with a 20-21 predicted Washington win were the closest, and Joe gets the chicken dinner.

For all the reasons that you mentioned, but give me a minute to wax on wtf do you mean if you block those three? Like who can do that to Carter and Davis effectively?

And if that isn't hard enough to do, what about the other players, which you mentioned? Or what about that Dean guy coming in at 800 mph? What if he isn't blocked? Hell, even when he is he still gets home.

What about the fact that the Niners schematic strength, CMC making plays and Kittle making catches is, you know, maybe playing right into the strongest spots on the Eagles field in the LB corps and the CBs. No disrespect to the D line whose pressure helps make the back CBs so good. Perhaps mention the LBs, Coop and Q, who are part of the best pass defense in the NFL?

And no mention of the fully depleted Niners D missing 5 of their best players including 2 D Linemen and ALL THREE LBs. Or how about the fact that the Niners basically don't have a pass rush, besides Huff.

What they can do and want to do doesn't mix well with what we are good at.

I see a score of 24+ for the Eagles who figure it out on O by just not stepping on their Ds the whole game and 13-17 for Niners.

We won't hold them to 3, but I could genuinely see 13 to 17, with a broken play putting them in a good spot inside the 20 to get an extra TD. Plus one TD they earn by putting together a good drive. Or three out of four for their kicker on top of one TD.

I said this last week you don’t know how much you’re gonna get out of them. He could come back and after two series, his foot is in pain and he’s not able to continue. I still think we are going to hear about him getting surgery this off-season to fix that problem.

If he doesn’t retire in the offseason, I doubt after another surgery and another year of age he’s going to hold up next year.

Yeah, his analysis on this matchup was very weak. He's pretty good normally so I'm thinking he just didn't do his homework on this one.

When does college football start to institute some sort of NIL/transfer portal rules? This isn't sustainable and quite frankly, it's taken so much what was great about college football and just thrown it in the dumpster.

I guess he can copy and paste that analysis for the Rams, who really are a one trick pony defensively. The eagles at this point are very good at all 3 levels.

I did have a wry smile at the Ravens sacking Harbaugh. Should have done it a couple of years ago, the dude looked stale in the role and the Ravens lacked the might for the next step. Same as the Stiillers, hit the playoffs, lose in the wildcard weekend, etc etc

If you are a team that's a mess, Harbaugh makes a lot of sense. He's won a SB, got to the playoffs a lot etc. If you are the Commies or Gints, he's a smart interview.

The obvious question is, does he have a coaching tree around him to take a team like the Commies on?

This has happened due to court cases. I believe only congress can step in with legislation and give colleges anti-trust immunity. And I agree 100% about the enjoyment of college sports being lost. There must be some middle ground between paying kids nothing and the insanity that currently prevails.

It wasn't viewed as a blizzard but maybe 5 - 10 years ago we had around 10 inches of wet snow right around Halloween. Before the trees had dropped their leaves so the snow didn't make it to the ground but stayed in the trees. There were a LOT of large branches and whole trees across utility lines and roads due to the weight of the snow. I know of one secondary road that was closed for a week due to limbs and trees across it. It didn't get much media attention because it didn't really affect areas without a lot of big trees and overhead utilities but it sure made a mess around me. People were without power for days.

I think Harbaugh is pretty overrated. Don't get why so many teams are enamored with him. I think he'll be exposed a bit leaving one of the best talent evaluating front offices in football and going to a lesser organization. Good luck with that.
