because dont we get tons of complaints about the amount of dead money already piling up for next year as well? Yes. Yes we do....

I am the EMB's foremost draft nerd. lets see the earliest post on the board mentioning him. Ill give them credit if its before april.

according to my search there were 0 mentions of him in the entire IWTETG forum. His hame came up in this thread 4 times before april in mock drafts that were copy and pasted. One of them was greend who admittedly doesnt know players when he starts doing those things.

No one ever actually made a post about that player, like saying anything about him what they liked, why he fit, etc.

No one knew who the heck this guy was. He was a name rarely even picked in the later rounds of mock games.

I dont know where Amour-Davis came from. His name started popping up real late in the process and while he got added to the TDN prospect list late, theres not even a scouting report. I dont understand how an Alabama defender flew so much under the radar, and is also supposed to be good enough for 2nd round consideration?  Hes now ranked on that site highter than Jobe who is quite good and played on the same team. I dont understand how the other guy could have gone so unnoticed. I know nothing about him.

I do know HonestNFL said to look at Alabama CBs as scheme fits.

I see Amour-Davis more in Round 3... based on his Alabama affiliation.  Jobe I've seen as being described as a very limited athlete.   Most of my targets going forward are plus plus athletes, specifically for the defense.  This team needs speed and athleticism on the back end.

He went 90th in our EMB mock draft, so give @Cheesteakitis his props.

props to him. He looks like the only one on the entire EMB who didn tthrow him in as a random name late in a draft. He seems to also know the guy would be in consideration for a day 2 pick. still, extremely late in the game. March 31st . But I did say before April. He just snuck it in there. If we can both be honest, no one had him as their guy. No one.

it's possible that given Brooks' experience they feel better about an achilles injury but I don't like it.  I would be fine with him in the 3rd but they would be passing on a likely starter at a position of need (not that DE isn't) that would be more a sure bet in the 2nd.

Then again, there's their experience with Sydney Jones, Demeco Ryans and Jordan Hicks.     I'm steering clear until Round 3.

Don't sleep on kayode Awosika either, hell get chance this year to compete for a roster spot.

Played tackle in college but at around 6'4" he projects to guard.

Stout has worked with less before

Yep.  Pass catchers are well above average.  As is O line.

ROTFL looks like you made Outlaw a pass catcher

3 months ago, the Cowboys had one of the best WR groups in the NFL, if not the best. The Eagles were probably bottom 5.

After players coming and going with both teams, the Eagles wake up today with the best WR group in the division.

Arguably Dallas went from first to 3rd.  The Commanders have McLaurin, Dotson, and Samuel.  I think Dyami Brown is a decent prospect as well.

On Jermaine Johnson - they said that he rubbed a lot of teams up the wrong way with his immaturity and focus on "his brand". Like really, really bothered teams. And they said this pre-draft too. So it seems there's your explanation for his drop. Must have been pretty bad for him to drop so far.

Here's the post draft discussion:

I heard something from Johnson when being interviewed.  Something along the lines of "I'm a man of faith, but I know what I'm worth.  Seemed like an odd thing to say.  He didn't say he knew how talented he was and that he could step in and compete... just seemed to go straight to the dollars and cents.   Just an interesting thing in retrospect in a 2 minute interview.  Likely nothing, but fits with a branding issue.  Is he a prima dona already?

Didn't realize they tracked this. I wonder if they saw some of ours and were like "why are Eagles fans picking all white dudes?"

Stout is a blessing, is presence provides peace of mind. I hope he is around for another 10 years.

literally no one ever mentioned him in here prior to the past month. No one knew about him before he popped up on their favorite draft website which happened very late in the game. There is not a single person in here who can claim him as their guy if we draft him. I call shenanigans.

Go to the mock draft section and you'd learn a little.  This place is not the axis of knowledge.

I don't disagree, but adequate isn't above average.  And neither seems able to stay healthy.  That wasn't a negative comment (or at least wasn't intended that way)... having only 2 'average to below average' positions out of 11 is pretty good.  The real shame is the impact of one of them that they are below average.

I already saw someone mentioned him on march 31st so really no one knew about him till very late in the game. Like a month before the draft.

Maybe youre confusing him with the other hyphen Cam Taylor-Britt? Hes been known for a much longer time.

I dont really have any need to learn from the mock draft section. I crush it in in the draft every year for the past 18 years Ive been here.

You expect Brown to be gone next year and dead money?

They have some guys coming off the books finally in 2023... but we also get a nice chunk of dead money.  Fortunately, they are still super cheap at QB... unfortunately, that's not a good thing on the field, only in the accounting books.

We still need to fill holes. Some can easily be filled by UDFAs (RB #4, QB #3, OL #10). Other holes are more desperate: S#2/3, CB #2. We need DBs more than LBs given our current roster. Our roster is in good shape overall; we don't need 10 picks (ideally we'd have 6 left instead of 4 left though)

They protected him all season on the PS, they're high on him and started him in the last game.

Don't care where the Eagles finish in passing yards in 2022. This isn't the year to contend. They won't when they get their real QB in 2023. That's all that matters.

you really cant have it both ways. talking out of both sides of your mouth. Cant complain about being limited in salary cap. Even more dead cap next year and continuing to grow. And then say its not surprising that they were able to go get a 100M receiver. Im not going to entertain this debate. Howie detractors and EMB carpologists had no idea this was possible. And will still never give him credit for pulling it off.

Just another data point without context.  🙂
