Primarily playing the QB and the edge but in a pinch can play off the line.  I mean Imdoubt they are any worse than Bradley.  Plus Edmunds is great in the box so is really almost a LB/S hybrid, which is really what Morrow was.  I think this is overblown.  In truth the team has 3 1/2 off ball LBs and three OLBs that can play SAM.  I really think that we need to stop thinking 3/4 or 4/3 as a "base”. I think the base is now situational and can be just about anything.   It started with Nick and Gannon but I am excited that Desai is going to take it forward even further.

I just look at them as edge vs off-ball LBs. Reddick certainly won’t play off ball. Smith dabbled in it and could play there in a pinch. I’m not confident Johnson could survive without getting picked on relentlessly.

That's why P. Johnson and Scott will dress. Don't think any of the guys I sat down are key for special teams.

What STs units does Scott play on?

Yet,  what I said was true.

I haven't seen many baseball movies, but:

1.  Eight Men Out

2.  Field of Dreams

3.  61*

4.  Pride of the Yankees

5.  Bad News Bears

Can't believe everyone is leaving out "The Benchwarmers" ----  Beef Stew for all of you

@FranklinFldEBUpper

A few STs questions for you.  Any chance at some point we see OZ as the returner?  I know you liked where Covey was going last year but OZ didn’t look bad when we saw him catching punts.

If Covey isn’t the returner, could you see them activating Kyron Johnson, Allen or VanSumeren for coverage teams at some point?

Who do you see as the gunners?  Is Ringo a possibility?  How about Brown?  He was dynamic in smart blocking on that long return by Allen.

Frankly, I see how they play in the up man position and in blocking on returns as a huge piece of whether it is Calcaterra or Albert O that is an inactive.

Eagles lost a lot of STs players this offseason from a group that wasn’t particularly strong last year. So that may not be a bad thing.  McPhearson, Bradley, Wallace are gone.  Jurgens is a starter as are Dean and Blakenship.  Overlooked sometimes is that Clay is the last one to get his starters with 10 days to prepare.  Whoever aren’t starters but active are candidates for STs.  Any new players you project on teams as potential upgrades based on PS? (Mine is Brown.)

Do you think the new kickoff rule will have much of an impact?

Appreciate an insight or thoughts you may have.

I get the feeling Desai wants more disguises, so i expect all three will drop plus Sweat.  Not a lot but on occasion.  Of course, at this point it is all speculation on what we see from this new defensive side of the ball.

I heard the third season wasn't as good as the first two. Is this correct?

I've only ever seen the first two episodes of the series, which I enjoyed, so I have very little knowledge. Friends have raved though.

I thought all 3 seasons were just plain fantastic...

I'm not into ranking movies but for the sake of discussion I think there are some good ones that I haven't seen listed.

Bad News Bears

Every Body Wants Some

The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars & Motor Kings

No, critical thinking requires you engage and debate the hypothesis or thought exercise

Coverage teams.  People underestimate him because of his height. He has great balance and is pretty jacked at 203.  Same weight as Blankenship.  Heavier than all CBs except Bradberry and Ringo (the latter is slimmer but 6” taller).  Heavier than all active WRs not named Brown. Scott is pretty good at pass pro too.  He is heavier than Gainwell.

Patriots claimed Matt Corral.

Perhaps a load management strategy can be implemented.

The disrespect to rookie of the year. Not only a solid baseball movie but his last out came against the Mets. And that’s worth something.

This movie also helped Jamie Moyer extend his career by another 10 years after he adopted the floater pitch

The problem with Stoll as a #2, is that when Goedert gets hurt, they abandon the tight end position in the receiving game. Hopefully, Albert O alleviates this issue.

Albert O isn't Goedert either.

In fairness not many are.

Not even close but he might be a better blocker and better receiver than Calcaterra so he can be on the field as an actual #2 who doesn't give away the play

Tanner McKee 19

Kelee Ringo 22

Fred Johnson 74

Albert O 85

PS

Tiawan Mullen 33

Thomas Booker 59

Interesting that L'Raven Clark isn't listed on the PS yet.

Tread lightly, I will permit no besmirching of the Old Grey One.

Game day is always smooth

There's literally no reason to be doing this.

Being purely contrarian, how many times would anyone want to go back a year or two and quote a post?  I'd say pretty rarely, so breaking the blog up into the parts of the season makes sense from a admin perspective.

Clark wearing 73 at practice today.

Note only zangaro reported that Goedert not practicing.  Take it for what it is worth.

So Texans lose Cameron Johnston on IR for 4 weeks and it's Ty Zentner to the rescue. Hit or miss with these guys. Must have had the rookie jitters being in his first camp and got them out.
