The harder they try to make these games "realistic", the dumber they look.  My fav is when I'm ahead 42-3 in a road game, allow a last minute TD -- and the fans in the crowd go apesh!t .....

Wish they had it more realistic and have half the stadium boo while the other half posts "seasons over" after the Eagles give up an opening drive TD in Week 1.

Sounds like a game prediction bonus, but you need to tag yourself for those

The gambling websites track and monitor all activity to make sure they are in compliance with state law and also share the information with the NFL.

"And share….”  If I bet on the app does the gambling site share my name, my bet and my exact location with the NFL?  Now the issue for Williams might be the day and state are enough to put him in the "hotel” but I mean that’s pushing the bounds to me.  I traveled a lot for business.  I was in Italy for over two months for my company but would have been hugely violated if they interpreted what I did at night or on weekends as within their purview to enforce a rule like Goodell’s gambling edict. (While I was there, my wife flew in and we did a long weekend trip to Paris.  We went to the Moulin Rouge with friends one night. Pretty sure my company didn’t view that as me going to a strip club at a company location.

As an aside, @NCiggles will get a kick out of this, there is a pretty famous, in insurance company Worker’s Compensation circles, where a company sent an employee to work in London.  While there, he was having naked adventures with a lady of the night and had a heart attack and died. ( @NCiggles will tell you that dying of natural causes at work is not usually covered under worker’s compensation benefits.). The wife sued and argued that but being out of the country and away from her affections to the benefit of her employer, her husband would not have been engaged in the exertion that resulted in his death. Argument won and she got death benefits. Interestingly, in my office the men pretty much thought that was a stretch to far on the law.  The women thought the decision was righteous.  (Remind me sometime to share the story about the worker and his drill locked on drilling. I guarantee everybody on here will wince.)

WTF was that Patrick Mahomes throw? lmao

Looks like they tried to recreate that SB throw. Would have been insane if the idiot caught the ball

Yes, they can. I don't know all the details behind it but it's already come out it's exactly how they caught Calvin Ridley and others.

Outside a serious breach of privacy, how would the NFL know?

They have everyone's SSN and location data, and they have an agreement with the NFL to provide information on player bets. I'm sure every single online sportsbook bet by an NFL player has been analyzed. It took them so long with the Colts guy because he was betting through someone else.

@Cochis_Calhoun

Turns out Rory McIlroy didn't come away totally empty-handed during the PGA players' meeting -- he was given some free advice:

Report: Rory McIlroy told to '[expletive] off' by golfer during contentious PGA Tour players meeting

We knew the PGA Tour players’ meeting in Toronto ahead of the RBC Canadian Open would be contentious.

And per a report, it did get heated between two players: Rory McIlroy and Grayson Murray.

Per the Golf Channel, a player said that when Murray yelled at PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan — something like, "We don’t trust you, Jay! You should resign right now! You lied to our face!” — McIlroy responded with a dig.

"Just play better, Grayson,” he reportedly said. That led to Murray telling McIlroy to “[expletive] off.”

Not a breach of privacy if you allow the app to know where you are which you have to do with these apps (from my understanding), so that they are used "legally" in states where it is permitted only.

And I'm sure for anyone who reads the fine print in their terms of use, it's in there.

That’ll never go through. One of the few benefits of a league run by racist southern white billionaires.

They just do it better than everyone else. They aren’t looking to beta test new experiences. They will wait until they have their perfect solution. Most people are okay with that.

One advantage Apple has is that they control the entire ecosystem -- hardware and software. They don't have to "play nice" as much with other manufacturers.

Not very far?  It's a two and half hour drive each way even in light traffic and you can add some more onto that for Monday or Thursday games heading towards LA, all to support a team after Spanos basically gave San Diego the ol' Ron Burgundy sign off?

It's not like every Chargers fan lived across the street from Qualcomm. I would wager that more than half of the Chargers fans in attendance each week drove at least from as far away as the LA area. I'm sure it sucks for the fans that were residing in San Diego, and honestly, I prefer the city of San Diego to anything in and around LA. But I'll say it again ... here in CA, driving is just a way of life. A 3 hour drive (one way) is no big deal.

The 5, the 10, the 101...equals the drives from hell

Not a fan either, but there are people that do that commute to work and back every day.

Just another reason for me to never use their sites.  Despicable sharing anything other than winnings with tax authorities.

With how aggressive the Saudis have been in the world of soccer and now golf, something like this is coming sooner than later. Probably within the next five years I would bet. And the NFL has no morals or principles when it comes to making money. The more these franchises continue to go up in value, the smaller the pool of potential buyers becomes. And the Saudi PIF has around $600 billion just to play with. They essentially took over the PGA tour in under two years with how they infiltrated LIV and then came to a deal with Jimmy Dunne, Ed Herlihy, and Jay Monahan.

Eventually these leagues run out of levers to pull with where to find and get more money. The PGA couldn't keep up these designated events and increased purses just through advertisers and sponsors. They had to find another source, hence the PIF.

Check the track record on Saudi Arabia and human rights. They certainly aren't saints themselves. Might want to do some research on Sharia law and how they treat particular groups of people.

I bought madden 23 for like $20, and that was too much. It's Fing garbage. Never again, was the first time I bought a madden since maybe 2016? Can't remember the last one I actually bought

Rory needs to shut the hell up, he and everyone associated with the PGA who talked all that ish look like a bunch of morons right now.

Capping for Saudi Arabia is certainly a choice.

Have Golf players ever fought on the course during a round?  That would be awesome.

I'd love to see John Daly fight someone.

Yep.

Just showed Nuggets coach giving a pregame speech in the locker room. Behind him in clear sight was a giant anti-gambling poster. Would bet (hehe) something similar is in every NFL locker room. These guys know.

Oh look at that.  Lions @ Eagles Snow Bowl game in 2013 is on NFL Network right now.  10 minutes left in the second quarter.  Lions up 8-0.  Still very much blizzard conditions at this point.
