So Let’s just go over the Philly sports scene the last couple months

1. sixers lose to the hawks after blowing 18 and 25 point leads and Ben Simmons completely melts down. Now trying to trade Simmons and in a holding pattern

2. The Phillies continue to be the phillies where they are a mediocre team about to miss the playoffs for 10 consecutive seasons

3. the Flyers completely fall apart and crumble this season after a promising 2020. Hart and a lot of the young players regress

4. The eagles trade wentz, fire doug. Carson wentz injuries his foot and puts getting a first round pick back in that trade in peril.

Lol

just saying if the Colts would’ve invested a 2nd round pick this past draft at QB they’d be fine. Cheap young backup who is capable as a rookie of playing.... boom.

To repeat, he failed A conditioning test although it may be that he did the test wrong. See @Khani1's post above.

Never mind. Just shoot him.

Overreaction? Drama King? Nobody is saying cut him or he sucks. The original context of the whole convo was should the Eagles sign him to a big extension now being all the issues with the cap.

So Godert came in to camp out of shape. I wonder if @greend @E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles @justrelax and @ManuManu still agree with @Alphagrand

And think Godert is still a no brainer to sign to a big extension?

See the source image

Wouldn't be wise; he's been dead for over 300 years.  Goedert, though?  Yeah -- although I don't think I ever used the word "big" extension.  I'm pretty sure I qualified my position along the lines of 'properly negotiated'.

I believe it's 70% of total snaps, not games.

70% of snaps AND make the playoffs.  Or 75% of the snaps regardless of playoff seeding.

Has anyone calculated how many games Wentz would have to miss to make the 1st round pick nearly impossible?

5 games takes him out of 75% played and right on the brink of 70%, like if he missed 5 it would still be dangeround to even hit 70% if they blow some teams out and he sits a few series here or there or gets the wind knocked out of him one game.  6 games and it eliminates all possibility.

So are the Colts sliding from a potential playoff team to a bottom of the conference team dropping a possible high twenties pick to a low thirties pick?   I feel bad for Wentz but if he doesn’t play 75% of the snaps, the best case scenario for the Eagles may be season ending IR.  For a big guy, he has some significant fragility.  Two stress fractures to his back, broken wrist, ACL, major concussion and now what sounds like a lis franc. Makes Landon Dickerson sound like a healthy guy.

Not quite.

I'm not, but failing an amorphous conditioning test appears to be a capital offense. Perhaps ganging is better.

I feel like he gets into at least 1 TC fight every year.

Hands to the face in a not padded practice is reckless and bad technique and fits Barnett’s penalty tendency.  He needs to play better.  I think the point of the post and reporting wasn’t to criticize Barnett, although maybe it should be, but to support the Dillard is soft proposition.
I believe the soft suggestion is flawed as the initial basis was where his head was at when he didn’t seem invested in football in high school.  Then he failed with limited time to practice at his first attempt at RT after seeming to predict failure.   The same reporters forget that when he tore his bicep last year, he tried to soldier through the injury for at least one practice before getting shut down by the team.
I am not convinced Dillard is soft.  I am more concerned about whether he can anchor against a bull rush.  I thought he looked pretty good at LT when he was in as a rookie.  I am hopeful that the Eagles have an abundance of riches at OT this year.

And for some reason you’re stupidly using a failed conditioning test that he would have passed if he did it correctly as some sort of told you so.

It’s dumb.

I get heat from a lot of friends for being negative about the state of Philly sports. It's bad. I think it's worse than 2012-2016 because at least those teams all hit rock bottom at the same time so there was hope for the future and nowhere to go but up. Right now it's a bunch of mediocrity and teams stuck in purgatory without a clear path to the top of the mountain. The Eagles getting Watson or another star QB being the exception.

And the thing is, we are here not through a natural course of peaks and valleys, but through utter incompetence from bad decision making or inept ownership.

Today is another example. The Mets, who suck and are very catchable in the NL East, go out and make a huge splash. The Phillies do the bare minimum, because they fraud of an owner who always puffs his chest out about spending big, absolutely positively refuses to go over the luxury tax every time he's presented with an opportunity to put his team in a position to make the playoffs.

We are a city full of incompetence and guys who simply don't care enough.

And the fans deserve better.

In typical Philly sports fashion, he won't miss the season, but he'll miss just enough to cost the first round pick. Probably miss it by literal single digit snaps just to put salt in the wound.

By their sources which is likely someone on the Colts. You guys are way too critical of reporters these days. He's seeing a specialist but the initial thought is it's not a lisfranc. That's not rumor mongering, and it's the same thing that would have been printed in a paper 20 years ago.
