EMB Blog: 2021 Regular and Post Season

Connecticut Eagle

Recommended Posts

Eagles in 2020 were 3rd in sacks, this year they are 30th.  Caplan on his and Moshers podcast today said they were 30th in blitz percentage.  Should be interesting in the playoffs if Gannon keeps that pace.  Good QB’s given time will pick the Eagles defense apart, like they did all year.

All these games without starting QBs is just awful.

Book for New Orleans is 3/5-29 yards, Fromm yesterday was 6/17-25 yards.   Judge should of been fired at halftime.

His issue has always been his speed, ran a 4.87, he has everything else. Size, instincts, smarts etc.

I got him at 4.77, which is still slow for a LB in today's NFL and he's not very big, 6'0 230 though I'm sure he's bulked up since then.

He's got great instincts, good tackler, good short area quickness and agility, get him athletic OLBs and he'll be fine, but he's not going to be your sideline to sideline LB.

Man, Waddle stinks. See he's up to his usual tricks. like 3 slant catches for 5 yards apiece. One of the worst trades in NFL history by them. If you get taken by Howie, time to resign lol.

False

Best thing for this young team, young coaching staff and young QB is to get playoff experience.

Not sure why TJ edwards isn’t getting more credit . Key player on D this season . Love the way he plays

Because he doesn't have long hair and do jump kicks after every play.

You got to know after waiting around for 5 minutes during a glacial review process , that the O should be right over the ball ready to go.

Lots of those OLBs in this year's draft.

Hope the Eagles draft at least two.

The article the Eagles did on him when he was drafted had him at 4.87 and 6"1 242 lbs. But yeah, he has natural instincts for the LB position.

Depends what that experience is, if they win one sure, but if they get smoked in the first  game it won’t mean much. Now if every team they play against has to use a 4-5 string QB, anythings possible.

The Colts will probably make it to the SB, and Wentz will miss the game with Covid, lol. Colts win the game and Wentz retires, moves to Canada and becomes Brock Lesnar’s neighbor.

Given the amount of $ involved, he’s a likely June 1st designation.

The fact that there is no Roster Bonus in 2022 will give them more flexibility in the timing.  If anything became due at the beginning of the NFL Year (in March) they would have to make a more rushed decision.  The results of their Draft will be important input.  If they are lucky enough to get Linderbaum, then the Brooks decision is a slam dunk.  Of course it is possible that they might be able to trade him on Draft Day.  He becomes a low risk proposition for the right kind of team.  His salary is definitely high, but it isn't guaranteed.  When healthy he is worth every penny of $13,500,000.

There was a 4 way tie for this week's prediction winners

@Connecticut Eagle and @DrPhilly both predicted an Eagles win of 34-9

@mattwill predicted an Eagles win of 35-10

and @Westbrook#36 predicted Eagles win 34-11

Bonus prediction winners are

@EaglePhan1986 Eagles D score

@SB52 Giants less than 200 yards of offense

I'm honored to be in such illustrious company. @Connecticut Eagle @DrPhilly @Westbrook#36 you are the Nibs!

I think you should change your screen name to The Black Eeyore Fish

That's beyond ignorant.  Even if you don't believe Hurts is the franchise QB, playoff experience will be extremely valuable to Sirianni and the rest of this young coaching staff and guys like DeVonta, Mailata and other younger players who will be in their 2nd playoff game but playing a larger role like Goedert.

Getting smoked in the playoffs will help them develop not at all

Losing in the playoffs still provides valuable experience.

That's not true.  Also with their running game they will have have chance to keep a game close and maybe pull off an upset.
