YAC machine!

He’s going to be a beast in the NFL. Really curious how high he’s drafted & where he ends up.

Gotta be a Top 15 pick with his talent. He does it all. Amazing hands, route running, YAC potential. Great blocker is icing on the cake.

He will quickly emerge as a Top TE in the NFL. Man I wish the Eagles had a shot. Not going to happen though.

OMG. Anyone else watching the end of UCF and Baylor? What a 4th down play!

He’ll be drafted by a Detroit or an Atlanta or a Houston or an Arizona top 15, and be traded for way below market value within 4 years

Top 15 for sure. I wonder if he goes top 10, maybe even top 5. Not sure top 5 happens with 2 big time QB, Marvin Harrison Jr, few high potential tackles, some quality defensive players, plus some other QB that could ascend into the top 10 conversation. Also wonder if Kyle Pitts scares some teams from taking a TE that high

@e-a-g-l-e-s eagles!  Weston Wilson playing both corner INF positions today... really makes you wonder what they were thinking with Castro...

But, let me throw out an idea that would indicate that they actually had a plan...

Once Wilson came up during the Marsh injury, they saw that the bigs were not too much for him, but they also recognized that they didn't need him at the big league level for the stretch run, so they sent him down to keep him in the lineup and keep his bat sharp, fully intending to make this move at this point.  Thus giving them a hot bat from the right side who has had regular at bats recently.  And now they have a guy who can play both corner OF positions and both corner INF positions, with some power from the right side.  They weren't worried about Castro staying sharp, which is why he played so little and they worked Sosa in more when giving players off days, but wanted Castro with the big club in case of injury for mid game replacements.  🤷‍♂️

It’s possible. I think there’s a simpler reason. I think the plan was they saw he was 24 years old with options left/arbitration years left and he was hitting .280+ against LHP at the time of the deal. figured they could use a right handed bat off the bench that could play multiple positions on the infield. The issue was his stats were basically from 8 games and the rest of the time he was terrible and his fielding also fell off.

Yes.  But the big question is can they get as hot as last year's team did.  If they can... they could take it the distance this time.  If they can't... then they likely won't get nearly as far.  It really does come down to who is hottest at the end rather than who is the better team.

I actually think they had a better starting staff in 2022 cause Nola was really good during the regular season. Ranger was also more consistent last year when he became a starter. Really after wheeler, don’t know what you are getting from nola, Ranger, Walker. Sanchez has been more consistent then those 3. The bullpen actually is about the same going into the playoffs. Alvarado has found himself and Hoffman has been good. Soto, dominguez and kimbrel have been hit or miss for much of the second half. but we forget dominguez was not great going into the playoffs, Robertson couldn’t pitch back to back days, brogdon was essentially soto, hand and bellatti were similar to Hoffman last year and eflin had just come back from injury.

The lineup is hard to judge. Hoskins gave them more power and an ability to just get red hot and carry the offense if need be. But this year turner is a better overall hitter and castellanos has been more consistent. Would argue they have Rojas and pache to play with marsh in the outfield so they have more depth, better overall outfield hitting and better defense.

Yeah 6th overall, 26 sellouts and 40 games over 40k. I’m betting the sixers this year with attendance sees a drop off cause the fan base is irritated with the organization. Flyers are in a world of hurt. I’d be surprised if they were top half of the league.

That’s kind of the definition of a fair weather fan.  Win, attendance goes up because fair weather fans show up. (Win enough and the fair weather fans will buy merchandise to display that they are part of the fan group.) Lose and the attendance diminishes as the fair weather fans dissipate.  Fits what you are saying to a T.

My issue was never that Phillies fans weren’t fair weather fans. My point when that whole discussion came up was that sixers and Flyers fans were just as much as Phillies fans. And the attendance of Phillies, sixers and flyers proved that. When the sixers sucked no one went. They got good again and were top 3. Flyers were similar. The only team in the city that is not so much fair weather is the Eagles. That said when the Eagles aren’t very good a lot of the season-ticket holders sell their tickets to opposing teams fans and it’s not the same type of crowd when they are good and when they suck. I’ve gone to eagles games in Philly when they were really good like 2017 and really bad like 2005 and 2012.

When fans are displeased with the product a team is putting out there... there's not much a fan can really do about it.  One thing is to spend your limited dollars elsewhere... Don't spend multiple hundreds of dollars to attend one game.  Don't spend $150 on a new jersey, or whatever.   But that doesn't mean that the fans are less passionate, just that they are dissatisfied.  And don't want to give the owners the wrong idea about their displeasure.

There are some who just want to be a part of whatever scene exists and are looking for something to do for entertainment.

80% of his yards are YAC. That was a wild stat to hear during the game. I've been on the get Brock Bowers bandwagon since his freshman year and I continue to lead the way. He'd be a fantastic replacement for Goedert in a few years.

I know it would be a crazy luxury, but if he fell into the 20s, I'd be on board to move up a few spots to get him. He could turn this really good offense into an elite one. I know DE, CB, OL are the smart plays though.

Another Schwarbomb!

Last years team got hot too fast and cooled off in a big way. I'd rather this team stay consistent and not go all out.

They had to really turn it on down the stretch just to get in.

He pretty much won the game for my Dawgs in the second half. He was the ultimate security blanket for a shaky Carson Beck. Some of his one-handed grabs are just on another level. And his ability to shake off defenders, break tackles, and take the right angles are elite.
