Someone here answered this before.  No one wanted these games years ago and these teams stepped up and took them. So the NFL rewards them and they keep them.  This is the way abbreviated version.

It's been decades. Fans don't want to see these same bums play every year.

Thanksgiving should always have the Lions and Cowboys on it.

Meh.  maybe WFT can do something. Seattle would have been a good game?  But now, maybe not. Not ruling him out yet (Geno).

And I remember Dallass lost once. So that was fun.

We've Struggled”: Chiefs' Star Travis Kelce Reveals Emotions Behind Teammate's $31 Million 'Betrayal' - EssentiallySports

Rainy and Windy.  Ben VanSumeren runs 40 times AND covers Travis Kelce like a blanket.

VanSumeren is my udfa pick for the Eagles.

Keaton Mitchell is my udfa pick for the Ravens.

He's done well.  Based on that data point,  I'm thinking VanSumeren does well.

They had a real shot with Geno. Injuries starting to take their toll for both teams.

Them playing every Thanksgiving always ruins my Thanksgiving. Never understood why they get that game every year. Like some sort of America's Team BS or something. I know the other teams aren't complaining because they get to stay home with their families. Detroit was fun to watch for the 10 years that Barry played. Need to stop show casing these teams on Thanksgiving.

I recall reading that the Thanksgiving game thing goes back to like the 1950s or 1960s. The league was looking for two teams that were willing to sacrifice their Thanksgiving to play and the Cowboys & Lions were the teams that either volunteered or were coerced into playing. I don't know what the per game pay was then but it's a safe bet that it was considerably less than it is today.

If you're not sure if serious after reading this...

Doing liquid

Don't normally drink beer for night games because work comes too early the next morning, but I'm a snacker during games so that's out the window

I'm super hungry now, and my wife is torturing me by watching people reviewing buffets on youtube

Probably too late now but green Jello helped me. I never really felt hungry and that was a concern of mine. Just remember with Jello nothing red, orange, yellow or purple. That pretty much leaves green.

We’ll be calling him Ben VanSuperman before the nights over

@mattwill

Eagles 31

Chiefs 24

Hurts rushing Td

Aj 100 receiving yards and a td

@mattwill

Eagles - 27

Chiefs - 24

Bonus:  Eagles rush for over 200.

Yeh, there are two times the Cowboys didn’t play on Thanksgiving since ’66. It was in ‘75 & ‘77. There was a ton of success with Thanksgiving game for the Lions prior to ‘66, the Cowboys were a newer team and they wanted to promote a newer team to gain more fans. The St Louis Cardinals played in ‘75 & ‘77 in place of the Cowboys for the same reason, to increase their exposure.

Get less sleep,  or skip work, depending on where you live.

Maybe Nolan Smith can do this tonight for the anniversary

I always hope for a nice, easy win on MNF. If this game goes down like the Dallas game, I won't be able to fall asleep until about 2am.

Have kids in Travis’ and Jason’s age range, I can only imagine being Papa Kelce and going to dinner with the family on Thanksgiving with Travis bringing Taylor only to be upstaged by this woman.

On the other hand, if things get serious, Taylor could do worse for a sister-in-law.

Wow, so the Lions first Thanksgiving Day game was in 1934…they’ve hosted a game every year except ‘39 - ‘44 because of WWII.

I might be more concerned if I was Mahomes. Remember Andy calling something like 40 or 50 passes with McNabb in the rain and wind?

Nope. I love the tradition. And the tradition is Detroit and then Dallas. It would be super weird if it were ever changed. (And yes, I know that in the seventies the Cardinals hosted the second game a couple of times.)

Seems like KC is pretty concerned about the field conditions… driving rain, tarp off two hours+ before the game.

Remember when McTurd didn't know you can tie in the NFL?

Yeah, and it was always the Packers til Vince Lombardi's complaints were finally heard and they started switching it up. Lombardi felt it was unfair that the Packers had to play a road game on three days rest EVERY year.

Kareem Jackson suspended 4 games again
